A Water garden will provide a feeling of relaxation and create a calming effect to the entire backyard. By adding a water garden you can create an escape from the days events and be transported into you own personal haven or getaway.  Backyard Makeover - AFTER

The water garden also has an effect on the temperature and climate for those sitting nearby. This is a wonderful plus on those hot summer days and evenings. If you add a small fountain or water fall the effect is enhanced plus the sound of the water will cover up any neighborhood noise.

When adding a water garden to you backyard oasis its best to set it up to be a focal point of the yard. Add a small patio or tables nearby for relaxing and entertaining. Evening lighting will also be a plus to your water garden area. There are many lights that can set by a water garden or in the nearby trees. Solar lighting is also popular and easy to use and install.

An additonal plus to a water garden is that they are easier to maintain than most other backyard additions. Once installed you may have to check on plants or fish if you added them, but other than that the water garden primarily takes care of itself. This makes the water garden more relaxing when you do not have to spend hours tending to its care and upkeep. Corny backyard

You will be surprised how the addition of this one garden area will seem to enlarge the backyard and create a sereat garden area where you will head to after a hard days work. Your friends will also select this area when they visit to relax. And by adding a few garden art pieces nearby or changing the  water plants, your water garden will always have a fresh look.

One final thought for your new water garden is to blend it into your backyard. This can easily be done with a path or added flowers and shrubs. You can also carry colors and tewxtures used aroun the water garden through the yard to tie the backyard design together and create a flow from one area to another. Of all the addtions to my backyard the water garden has been the most enjoyable.

Everyone has their own idea of what a Backyard Oasis would be but to me it’s my own private paradise that is a few steps away at all times. It’s so relaxing to head out the door in the morning and take in the fresh air and listen to the wildlife that also enjoys my yard.

One area that my backyard is lacking in would be a water garden, ponds and a miniature backyard waterfall. These features will be added to my backyard design this spring. Until them I can only look at gardening catalogs and dream of creating a backyard oasis filled with the sounds of running water and backyardfish.

This you tube about a Backyard Oasis Paradise that features ponds, beautiful water garden plants and a backyard waterfall caught my attention. Between its beauty and relaxing music it’s like being out in your own backyard oasis. It gave me ideas for my garden plans while I am waiting for the snow to melt.

At this time I am leaning towards adding a small water garden with Koi Fish and water plants, particularly water lilies and lotus plants. I can grow lotus plants in my zone 5 growing zone but I place them in a wire basket and move them in the winter. It’s a little more work but there is something about lotus plants and their striking beauty.

As spring approaches for many of us it the perfect time to make plans to add a water garden to your backyard garden oasis. The entire family and your friends will find your yard the perfect place to relax.
