Many towns and cities make them available to their citizens free for the taking. I once paid my son and his friends 2 large pizzas to help me pick up and spread woodchips to make a patio on which we put our picnic table. Got the whole thing done in an hour (plus the time it took to remove the grass). It's true--you don't have to spend a lot of money or do a major renovation to make your backyard an oasis. Great site.
