But it's worthwhile putting up with the food "loss" to see woodpeckers, nuthatches, goldfinches 6 foot from our kitchen door. I normally do the birdbath and fountains but stopped putting out bird food. Those pesky squirrels just eat up the food and the poor birds get nothing. Lol!
